Planning Their Strategy....ATP Anchorage Job Fair 2006Only considering a move? Just started your job search for Alaska? Already a seasoned Bush teacher in the state who is looking for a change?

You've come to the right place to learn more! Exchange ideas, discuss issues, and participate in on-line virtual recruiting events.

Hundreds of ATP Forum members are currently working in Alaska districts, and they tend to continue to provide valuable information to newcomers each year. ATP staff also post items, but the vast majority of activity here is candidate intitated, and answered by other teachers, administrators, and Department of Education staff.

The ATP iCommunity website - and it's main ATP Forum - are maintained by Alsaka Teacher Placement (ATP), and provide forum and virutal meeting space for ATP's Hosted Chats, Virtual Job Fairs and other events.

Melissa HillIf you are a teacher or administrator candidate, and considering teaching in Alaska,  please join us Monday for a Virtual Job Fair with an experienced group of teachers, and district recruiters.

There area around 100 currently open jobs for the school year that starts in August.

ATP Director Melissa Hill, and her staff will be helping facilitate introductions, and guide the conversation. Private chats between candidates and districts will allow each to get to know the other.

Numerous candidates from our live chats and virtual job fairs this year have signed contracts  with districts they "met" at these online events.  Coincindence? Probably not!

Certified & Soon to Be Certified Candidates Only

Candidates must hold or be expecting a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university with an education degree, or a valid teaching certificate.

Districts will be accessing your resume and profile information from the ATP Job Bank database during the chat, so the better your account looks, and the more information available there, the easier it will for districts to get interested in you as a serious candidate.

Traditionally, rural positions are the hardest to fill as are some urban positions in high demand areas such as math, science, special education, and dual endorsed candidates.

Note: You must be registered with the free ATP Job Bank if you would like to participate:
